Join Us in Welcoming Echo Glen’s New Superintendent

Hello Echo Glen Children’s Center Volunteer Community,

My name is Felice Upton and I am the new Superintendent at Echo Glen.  I wanted to reach out and introduce myself and express my gratitude for all that you do here at Echo Glen.  The team here is so grateful for the way that you are rallying to support our community in innovative ways during this time of significant stress and change.  Having worked with volunteers for years in facilities I know how important your work here is.   I look forward to meeting you all in person once we reach a new normal and appreciate your continued care for the employee team and youth here.  I have attached the announcement that went out across DCYF when I was hired with my bio so that you can know a bit about my background.

I am thrilled to be able to work with the youth and help foster a culture where everyone can thrive and hopefully together, we can change life trajectories for youth.

I look forward to meeting you in person and working together.  Thank you for your continued support of the facility.  Be well.

Best regards,

DCYF’s Announcement

Join Us in Welcoming Echo Glen’s New Superintendent

We are thrilled to announce DCYF’s new Superintendent of Echo Glen Children’s Center, Felice Upton!

Felice joins us from the Washington Corrections Center for Women where she served as Associate Superintendent for five years. She also brings to DCYF 15 years of experience working for the Washington State Department of Corrections, with expertise in trauma-informed care and gender-responsive programming.

Felice is strongly committed to disrupting pathways to incarceration. She also believes in service-oriented leadership and fostering a positive and supportive work environment. Her drive to help at-risk populations extends to her volunteer activities as well. Felice currently serves on the board for The Sexual Assault Center of Pierce County as well as being the vice-chair of the board for the University of Washington School of Social Work and Criminal Justice.

Last, but not least, Felice is a UW grad, Husky fan, and proud mom.

The youth at Echo Glen will be in capable hands with Felice and we are so glad to have her on board. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome to the DCYF team!
