Help Stock the Bookshelves!

80,000 Hours of Reading. Countless Possibilities Ahead.

Imagine discovering a story that opens your mind, sparks your imagination, and helps you see new possibilities for your future.

This summer, the youth at Echo Glen logged an incredible 80,000 HOURS OF READING! 🎉 Just imagine all those pages turned and new worlds explored!

We’re grateful for Jen, the extraordinary librarian provided through the Secretary of State. Unfortunately, financial support for library books has been suspended until 2028, and the shelves could use some new additions.

Will you help keep the pages turning?

Why Reading Matters

Reading is about so much more than words on a page. It helps young people:

  • 📚 Build confidence as they strengthen their reading skills and discover, “I can do this!”
  • 🌎 Open their minds to new people, places, cultures, and perspectives.
  • 💡 Imagine new possibilities and futures they may never have considered.
  • 🌱 Build a foundation for success in school, careers, and everyday life.

Comic Books & Manga Are Especially Welcome!

Not every young person is ready for a chapter book—and that’s okay! Comic books, graphic novels, and Japanese Manga make reading fun and approachable. Their combination of illustrations and storytelling can help youth build skills and confidence as they grow into stronger readers.

A comic book today may be the stepping stone to a chapter book tomorrow!

How You Can Help ❤️

📖 Donate gently-used books you already own. Youth especially love Japanese Manga rated Teen or Everyone, along with age-appropriate comic books and graphic novels. EMAIL this non-profit. We’ll help facilitate your donation.

Every Book Opens a Door

At Friends of Echo Glen, we believe every young person has incredible potential—and their past does not define their future.

Sometimes, a book is more than a book. It’s a chance to discover a new interest, see the world differently, and imagine a different future.

Thank you for helping these young readers turn pages, build confidence, and discover what’s possible—one book at a time! ❤️
